Malmesbury tried their best to finish in the top two of the Wiltshire 4 Rink League Division 2 South but fell short. The team recovered from a poor start against Spencer Melksham to win 14-0 on points, and 79-60.

Neil's rink lead the way, and Roy's rink was strengthened by the return of Andy B. Malc's rink somehow managed to win despiitewinning only 6 ends and Andy R's rink recovered from a poor start to win in the end.

Unfortunately the Gods of Bowls had decided that Chippenham Park should winaway at Amesbury by 10-4, sending Chippenham Park into first place and Amesbury into second place, both teams tied on 142 points. Congratulations to Chippenham Park on winning the division by 25 shots difference. Malmesbury finished with 140 points and the best shot difference. It was not to be for Malmesbury with only two away wins. This is the second year in a row that Malmesbury had finished third in the division.

Next year, Holt will be demoted to Division 2 South from Division 1. However, there may be changes to the league structure before next year.

On a lighter note, Malc's rink was presented with their Hot Shots certificates for an 8-0 maximum rink score earlier in the season. Well done, Paul, John, Rob L and Malc.

And thank you to Heather for providing the food for the home games and Steve for operating the bar. The team is very grateful for your volunteering efforts.
