The last week has seen many matches in different competitions, including National and County Competitions, and a Club Final

Some good news for the Ladies, they beat Tetbury 8-0 on Monday 13th June in the Stroud Valleys League.

Last, Friday afternoon, Malmesbury traveled to North Wilts Bowls Club and lost 10-4. Two rinks won and two lost, but the shots favoured the home team.

On Friday evening, in the Tourist Trophy (County), the opponents were Chippenham Town the home rink lost heavily and the away rink was winning at the 18th end, unfortunately, this competition is played over 21 ends, so the away rink ended up losing. The overall score was 25-46.

On Saturday morning, the Top Club (National) competition was at Chippenham Town. Malmesbury lost by 4-1.

After a heavy day with Hayes on Saturday, the Malmesbury A team traveled to Calne to play the Two Fours (National). One rink won despite the idiosyncrasies of the green, and the other rink lost by more shots, so Malmesbury lost 26-29 overall.

Finally, on Monday evening, there were three teams representing Malmesbury on the National Triples. All three matches were closely fought affairs. Brian, Roy, and Tim won their match on the extra end against Marlborough. Mike, John, and Brad lost their match on the extra end against Calne. Paul, Alan, and Malc lost their match by 16-17 on the last end to Chippenham Town.

Brian, Roy, and Tim play Calne on Friday 17th June in the next round

In the National Two Woods, Paul progressed to the next round thanks to his opponent conceding. He travels to Corsham on Saturday 18th June to play Mike Smith..

Gary moved to the next round of the Men's Unbadged Singles (County) as his opponent conceded as well. He will be at home to B. Andrews from Pewsey Vale in the next few weeks.

Alan plays in the Champion of Champions (National) on Sunday 26th against Keith Hutchens from Chippenham Park

Finally, in this round-up, another Club Final was played last week. In very windy conditions, Paul beat Malc in the Two Woods final.
