Malmesbury's club competition finals were played these last few days 13th-15th September 2025.

John moves on to his new Club as our 2025 Open Novice champion, beating Simon. Paul secured victory in the Open Seniors, over Roger, Heather and Rob L defeated the 2023 and 2024 champions, Joan and Arthur in the Ladies Invited Final.

Adverse weather conditions were not sufficient to dampen the enthusiasm or test the resilience of our finalists on Sunday and Monday. All matches keenly contested to a finish.

On Sunday, the games were brought forward to the morning to avoid the forecasted heavy rain.

Heather maintained her grip on the Open 2 Wood, beating Tony P. Rob S and Baz defeated Malc and Tony K in the Open Pairs. Paul had a decisive victory over Rob L, to retain his Club Men's Championship. Tina J battled her way to success, beating Joan in the Club Ladies Championship, having been 20-16 down after 22 ends.

On Monday, after a mid-match scramble to recover our gazebo which was ripped from its footings and blown over the fence by a serious gust of wind.

Rob L returned to the battlefield against Paul and earned a well deserved, decisive win in the Open Singles. Finally, Alan played his pal Neil in the Men's Handicap Final, with Alan claiming the bragging rights.

Once again, congratulations to all of our winners and well done to our finalists.
