Malmesbury Bowls and Social Club
The major news event in Malmesbury Bowls Club is the return of the pumps or taps or whatever you want to call them
The bar now offers three pumps/taps - Beck's Stella Artois and Orchard Pig, soon to be joined by Wadworth's 6X.
On more mundane issues, the Ladies won their Stroud Valleys' fixture against Fairford by 6-2 on points, and 37-33 shots. The Ladies move up to third in their league. Their next game is on Monday 11th July against Cam at home.
The Men's A team beat Dursley A by 10-0 points, and 56-37 shots. The team remains third in Division 1 of the South Cotswold League. Their next fixture is against Olveston A away on Tuesday 12th July.
The Men's B team fixtures have been postponed due to COVID. Their next fixture is on Tuesday 12th July at home against Olveston B. followed by Tuesday 19th July away at Nailsworth and Wednesday 20th July at home to Dursley B.
Roy and Brian beat Tim and Alan in the National Pairs by 24-14. In the next round, they succumbed to a pair from Chippenham Town by 17-4.
Gary and Malc beat a pair from Chippenham Town by 28-12 and lost in the next round by 23-10 to another pair from the same club.
Gary won 17-10 against Dave Williams from Chippenham Park and advances to the next round. We wish him good luck in his match against Jim Ennis from Chippenham Town.
In the County Over 60s Triples competition, Malc, Alan, and Paul lost to a triple from Devizes on the last end, on the very last bowl, 20-21. The Devizes triple will play Brad, Ruby, and John in the next round. Brad, Ruby, and John beat a triple from Amesbury by 17-15. Tim, Roy, and Brian beat a Highworth triple by 26-3 and move forward to play a triple from Marlborough in the next round.
Finally, Gary had a fantastic win by 21-2 in the County Unbadged Singles, against a Pewsey Vale player.

There are limited car parking spaces at the club. If possible, please park in Cross Hayes. It is a short walk from Cross Hayes, down Silver Street, to the club house.
